What a great place! It's full of local fossils, dinosaur models and skeletons, Roman + Norman armour as well as some local history with short video clips. Plenty to keep a 4 year old boy occupied as well as older visitors. Very helpful staff and well worth a visit (Free entry too)
Visited this morning with 2 children, 8 and 11. Spent an hour there. Mark gave us a free guided tour (can book online) Very detailed and knowledgeable. Also activity sheets for younger children. Also colouring, sand pit, books available at the end 🙂
Small but interesting museum displaying mostly fossils and other geographic information but also a art gallery and hall of fame for local sports players including Duncan Edwards Free admission
Dudley Museum (allow 1 hour) is next door to the Black Country Living Museum and easy to not notice due to lack of obvious museum signage. This free museum has incredible fossils, cute dinosaur models, and well presented local history. A peaceful place to learn and enjoy (with children's areas & trails).
Lovely little museum. It's just a few rooms upstairs in the Archives building, but enough to while away 30-60 minutes, I reckon. An impressive haul of fossils, dinosaur bones/models and some ice-age/early man exhibits. Some more local history stuff too, although it must be said those bits did less to capture my 2 year old's attention!
