Went bowling for my son's birthday. Booked in advance via phone. Staff were lovely, check-in straight forward. The bowling balls were not in the best condition and a few of the pins would be knocked over when being reset (every now and then) which wasn't great. The place looks old and tired, however they are building a new centre next door which will hopefully be really great when up and running. The good point is the welcoming staff and I liked that the pins are not on strings. There are a lot of renovations outside, there is Heras fencing with rope tied across the pathway. Both my husband and son are over 6ft 4inchs and both had to duck walking back to the car park following being hit on the head with the rope. There really should be some warning or bright tape on these ropes.

Raising a complaint regarding our recent visit to Dundonald International Ice Bowl on 18 April 2026 at approximately 3:30 PM. Our party of five attended as walk-in customers with the intention of playing one game of tenpin bowling. Upon arrival, we were advised that a lane would be available in approximately 30 minutes, which we were happy to wait for. We proceeded to pay and were assigned lane number 10. However, just over halfway through our game, our lane was unexpectedly shut off. When I approached the desk to enquire, I was only then informed that a single game is limited to 30 minutes, regardless of whether the game has been completed. This policy was not communicated to us at any point prior to or during payment. We asked to speak with a manager to see if there was any possibility of finishing our game, Unfortunately, the manager declined this request and responded in a manner that we found dismissive and unhelpful, stating that we had been informed of the 30-minute limit, which was not the case. As a result, our group left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied with the experience. This is particularly disappointing as we had intended to return regularly and make use of your facilities. I would strongly recommend that clearer communication is provided to customers regarding time restrictions before payment is taken, and that greater consideration is given to customer service in resolving such issues. (There’s other facilities nearby, with the likes of Airtastic with friendly staff and the ability to play a full game of Tenpin Bowling without being cut off).

Extra mile award for Emmett today. We had a brilliant time having taken a trip up from Dublin. We had a good few queries about the special needs sessions for our son, and some other aspects of the Ice Bowl set-up and Emmett did the business. I also noticed his care for all on the rink today. A great ambassador for the place. We were also warmly welcomed by Holly and Elaine at reception. We will be back fairly soon. Thank you all.

We had such a fantastic night bowling. The music and atmosphere were brilliant and made it so much fun from the moment we arrived. Noel and Colm were absolutely amazing — their humour, energy, and interaction truly made the night. They went above and beyond to engage with everyone and created such a welcoming, joyful environment. We were celebrating my sister’s birthday and had our dad with us, who has dementia. The boys were incredibly kind, patient, and interactive, especially with him, which meant more to us than we can say. They helped make the evening a truly special and memorable experience for our whole family. Thank you for a wonderful night — we will definitely be back.

I had a lovely experience at the venue, and it's actually my second visit within two weeks. However, during my latest visit, I was a bit disappointed with the service at the counter. One of the staff members didn't allow my daughter to use the penguin seat, despite her being eligible based on her height. He made the decision without even checking her height, which was frustrating because we didn't get to skate. This was a bit of a contrast to our previous visit just two weeks ago, where another staff member did check her height and we were able to enjoy the skating. Apart from this incident, the venue is okay."
