The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful-especially on reception. The downside is Salford Leisure only seem interested in keeping the gym maintained and given all new equipment, but the sports hall, where lots of classes are held, and kids parties, the floor is in poor condition, lots of holes which can be a dangerous trip hazard, the floor rarely gets cleaned- there is a lot of sweat that drips onto that floor from some of the intense classes, then the next class is expected to do their workout class on that wet & sweaty floor. There has been times blood spots have been left on the floor for at least several days. There has even been food remains from a Saturday kids party still on the floor at classes the following week. Plus there is no air-con. You are expected to do your workouts with ( if you are lucky) a single fan for the whole room, which is only good for those people in front of the fan, and also have the door open, which just isnt good enough forba room.that size and the intense workouts that are done in that hall.Come on Salford Leisure, start investing in this centre and show that you actually care for those if us that use the sports hall. If this rating was just for the staff it would be a 5, but im rating the centre.
The people on the front desk are rude, even worst on the phone. Just very inpatient. The coachs are good tho
I recently booked a badminton court at Eccles Leisure Centre for two hours for a group of six people, and the experience was extremely disappointing. After we arrived, we were told about a rule that a member can only bring a maximum of three guests. Because of this, only four of us were allowed to play during the first hour, while the other two were asked to leave and come back later. This completely defeats the purpose of booking and paying for a two-hour court as a group. This restriction was not made clear at the time of booking. If we had known, we would never have booked here. It makes no sense to pay for a full court and not be allowed to use it together. To make matters worse, the staff were rude and quite dismissive when we tried to question the situation, which only added to the frustration. This is the first time we’ve ever experienced such a rule at a badminton venue, and it completely ruined our session. Very poor experience — we won’t be coming back.
Joined recently with my wife. Pleasantly surprised by how up to date the equipment is. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free car parking for members - make sure you get a slip.
Decent amount of equipment in the gym. However, between 3.30-6pm gangs of young feral teens are allowed to roam wild in the gym, creating mayhem, messing about on machines and blocking access to equipment. OCCASIONALLY there will be a staff member to control them. The free weights area is SUPPOSED to be for 16+, but again it is abused. And good luck finding a full pool to swim in. Every time I have been - at various times - part of it is roped off for lessons.
