I checked the adult swim times for the holiday period and duly arrived for 12pm only to be refused at the door. Ridiculous system, clearly can't cope with demand. Provision of leisure services in Bury clearly need a thorough review!

I went to adult lane swimming where there are three roped off lanes. Each lane has a notice board to indicate slow, medium and fast lanes depending on individual's ability. The problem is that people ignore this and just pick a lane regardless of ability making swimming at a suitable pace very frustrating. I spoke to the lifeguard to ask if the lanes could be enforced based on ability but was told, majority rules and swimmers swim in any lane. The separating ropes are therefore pointless.

I would like to highlight the staff at Bury Castle Leisure Centre for their superb customer service. I took my 89 yr old mother who wanted to do some swimming. We were greeted by the lovely reception staff who tasked a young man to show us the facilities. He was excellent always assessing my mother’s mobility and using the lift when necessary. What a great example of a young man excelling in his role. I also had to ask a young man on reception about disabled bays who went out of his way to provide us with an answer. Also the pool staff have greatly assisted and improved my mother’s confidence in the water. I have never been to such a place where all the staff provided superb customer service. Well done 👏👏👏👏

I just want to give Ann a fabulous review she is always aware what is going on and tells people if they are messing about or not doing what they should be in the pool. I always feel safe and comfortable when she is on duty. Thank you Ann for always looking after us swimmers. 👏👏👏

I had been attending the leisure centre up until today when I was forced to cancel my membership. Although I enjoy swimming and being in the water I found that I wasn't get the most out of my visits because I struggle with old injuries that require me to use equipment to help support me. I bought a snorkel to assist me with my rehabilitation and strength my swimming. I really benefited from the use as oxygen is important when using muscles so this was helpful and I felt I was getting a better experience from using the equipment. Un be known to me the use of snorkel is prohibited in the swimming pool as the excuses given by the life guards was that the mask is dangerous if they can't take it of to give you cpr. That is there excuse Although it isn't dangerous anywhere else in the world just in the control area of the local pool. After challenging this with EVE the manager I was informed to get a doctors note, use it only in quiet times and not to use it at all. This made no sense to, and it is a ridiculous request. There are no signage to highlight the dangers of using water equipment such as snorkels and mask, and no alternatives. The management insists that they don't have to signpost potential high risk usage and claim that if they were to highlight every danger there would be posters everywhere. If there was a rule that a customer must adhere to them a signpost or notices should be visible to inform the customers thusly. After an unsuccessful inquiry to follow up as to if I can use it or not I was left unsure on the rules and regulations of this particular subject and feel that to continue using the pool without support and equipment to assist me with my training would be a waste of my money. I have cancelled my membership until a time where I can obtain a must and must not do list/ notice
