Interesting castle where you drive through the main arch to a free little car park so can see a lot before you even pay. We spent an hour as it was very hot but could have spent longer. Audio guide if you wanted one but there were plenty of panels.

A great place to visit. We were able to explore the grounds and the buildings in our own time and learn lots about the castle using the audio guide handset which was provided for free.

A absolutely wonderful castle ruin with a lot still standing and a family chapel that still has some of the original painting in it. The audio guide (on site) is well worth it, detailing the history of the castle itself and some of the tales around it. There is a small-ish car park on site too and incredibly you get all the fun of driving through the main gate to access it.

A nice place to visit, an English Heritage site so free for members of E.H. It has a small car park you drive through the castle to get to. Only a shared single lane in and out, so don't drive too quickly you may need to stop suddenly as you go through the gatehouse. The castle is a ruin, but the church and some of the buildings in the wall where the priest(?) lived are intact and have exhibits. There are some information boards around the site, but I'd recommend getting the audio guide as there is so much more information. Not a huge site, we did it a leisurely pace in 2.5hrs. There are loos behind the church, and a small gift shop near the gatehouse. The 'Heritage Mead' is lovely.

We were greeted by the entrance of this historical landmark as you drive though the outer gates! We were warmly greeted by staff who were enthusiastic to help! Many families came here. When we attended it was only open on the weekend. However the wait was worth it! A lot of history inside dating back to the conception of this landmark. It was great to see and very calming.
