Very good selection of mainly English 18th and 19th century paintings by Gainsborough particularly but also Constable and others. Excellent cafe and separate restaurant. There is no on site parking but a public carpark is only 5 mins walk. Recommend at least 1-2 hours to see all art

Fascinating guided tour, very informative, also a very good exhibition of landscape development from Gainsborough to Constable to Turner. Fabulous historical house as well, including a silk room with two jacquard dresses and other silks on display.

A very large museum with lots of great pieces of art, naturally Gainsborough but featuring Turner and Constable with a smattering of contemporary modern artists. The main exhibitions are in a modern building with easy access and there is a lovely garden, cafe and Gainsborough’s original child hood home to visit as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff on site and well worth visiting. Lots of insights into the artists life as well his contemporaries and life in the 18th and 19th centuries. Glad we went.

Beautiful with plenty of Gainsborough paintings to look and admire! You can definitely spend a morning or an afternoon here! Admire the exhibition next door, have lunch and then have a good look in the house. Gainsborough's house has some of his amazing paintings as well as some Joshua Reynolds! Well worth a visit. We visited on a Saturday and were amazed at how quiet and calm the House and the galleries were. Highly recommended if you go to Sudbury.

Great museum, lovely, knowledgeable staff and volunteers, they were changing exhibitions when we went so can't review all of the space. It like art, are interested in local history, interior decore or just fancy doing something in Sudbury, this is a great place to go. Constable room is also excellent.
