Today my husbands phone was stolen. The locker was broken into a long with two other lockers The lockers outside the gym .Fortunately his car keys were not taken. This was reported to the staff who said they will pass it up to seniors but really no help. There is no CCTV cameras near the lockers. This has been reported to the police. Heads up, take care with your possessions as they are not safe.
Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre is one of the best leisure centres in the Hornchurch area. The building is modern, spacious and always feels clean and well maintained. There is a great variety of fitness classes available, all easily bookable through the Everyone Active app. The gym and swimming facilities are excellent, and there is something for all ages and fitness levels. The on-site cafe is a real bonus, offering refreshments and snacks, while the small shop adds extra convenience. The location is fantastic, with plenty of free parking and easy access. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. The centre can get busy during peak times, but the quality of the facilities and range of activities make it well worth visiting. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comprehensive fitness and leisure facility in Hornchurch.
My daughter attends swimming lessons at your centre, and I wanted to share a couple of concerns. She has mentioned that the showers are often too hot, and on a few occasions we’ve noticed small hair balls collected at the side of the shower area. It would be great if this could be checked more regularly for hygiene and comfort. I’ve also observed that depending on the instructor, the class sometimes starts around two minutes late and finishes about two minutes early. This means the children aren’t receiving the full 30 minutes of lesson time that we’re paying for. I’d appreciate it if you could look into these points, as we really value the lessons and want to ensure the best experience for the children.
Modern clean and bright with all the classes, equipment and pools you could want. The ground floor has a coffee shop with a glass wall so you can relax and watch the grandkids swim. It has a big free car park but it still gets almost full most days. I dropped it a star as my wife and daughter have trouble booking the classes they want. There is a more expensive membership that lets you book 2 weeks ahead instead of the normal one. As a council facility for the good of the community I think this is a mistake.
The pool is alright, but hasn’t got a very good interior, as when you swim and hit the bottom or sides, it doesn’t feel good. Along with this, the changing rooms are unacceptable. Right down the road is mansions, and you have monstrous things in the cubicles. The gym is a very good size, and has lots of running machines, though.
