This was an awesome interesting place! My son loves war machines and knows pretty much all there is to know about them and he was completely in his element! The staff were wonderful and knowledgeable the artifacts were great and the display was tasteful, also thought out carefully! I'd like to say a great family day out, but in order for my statement to be tasteful, ill say we really enjoyed our quality time whilst learning lots of interesting facts about the history of wars! *edit. Toilets were immaculate, which is hard to come by these days!

Imperial War Museum North in Media City is a very well-designed and powerful museum experience. The exhibitions are informative, emotional, and presented in a really engaging way with visuals, audio, and real historical artifacts. The building itself is architecturally beautiful and located in a lovely area by the water. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy history or want an educational day out in Manchester.

Beautiful museum with free admission. Inside you will find much of the history from before the Great War up to the present day, with very knowledgeable and helpful staff. There are also guided tours available inside. In addition, there are restrooms and a bar where you can relax, eat, or have something to drink.

I visited the IWM North with a friend today and was absolutely amazed! The staff were incredibly knowledgeable. The exhibits are all really interesting and had interactive elements which were great fun for people of all ages. There is so much to see here and so much information to take in. It is set out in a really spacious way and there is no pressure/time limit so you can go around the museum at your own pace. The gift shop was well stocked with a huge variety of different products including memorabilia. I’ve already been recommending this to friends and would definitely visit here again. A true gem!

The IWM North is a fantastic museum, with excellent exhibits that really help children understand the period from World War I onwards. The interactive trail in the spy section is especially engaging and well designed. It’s impressive that all of this is available for free. I didn’t fully understand how the 360-degree video connected to the rest of the exhibition. There was nothing wrong with the content itself—I'm a second-generation migrant but I also have family members who fought in WWI and were child evacuees during WWII—so I found the themes meaningful, but disconnected. There’s also a great shop with a wide selection of interesting items to buy, and the facilities, including the toilets, were clean and pleasant. Overall, a really worthwhile visit.
