This was my first time visiting the facility to use the gym, I went to my usual gym today (the time capsule) to find it was closed & went to this gym instead. I was honestly very shocked, i actually went looking for the rest of the gym. There are only 3 weight machines in the whole gym, leg curl/extension, lat pulldown/long pull & abdominal crunch. Being unable to do free weights due to disability, this was no use for me. No leg press, pec/rear delt, shoulder press, chest press, lateral delt, bicep curl/tricep, hip thrust or standing squat etc unfortunately my own gym is going to be closed for a few days and I can’t see me using this gym again.
A million pound mess. Reopened after being out of commission for around 1 year. Still has exactly the same issues, smell of urine/ammonia is rampant in the changing areas, changing area is NOT clean by any modern standard, door handles held on with putty, other decorations are literally peeling off the wall in the toilets, rust is visible on many frame sections around the pool, no anti slip coating around the pool, some showers still do not work, several lockers were not working either, it took me three attempts to find one that didn't swallow the 50p piece, the lockers are just wide enough to fit a bottle of water. Water seems fine, however there's a lot of small rough debris on the floor of the pool, clearly not being cleaned enough. The full 25m length of the pool is not accessable, only on certain days. I think the price is far too expensive for what your getting here, 6 pounds entry? It feels like its still on life support, and no one knows how to use bleech or clean corners. It's a mixed bag and the smell is terrible... not what I expect from any modern health and fitness facility.
Only opened a week and already closed and shutters down. No website updated to say it's not open or information on reopening. Unbelievable.
Glorified paddling pool. Not at all suitable to train in. In about 10 attampts I have never been able to swim uninterrupted lengths. Today was the last straw as staff pulled lane ropes across me as I swam. Go to Tryst in Cumbernauld. Far more geared to training and always at least 1 dedicated swimming lane, but usually 3.
A basic pool, good for learning to swim. Not heated and often a draft making it seem cooler. Deep end has adjustable floor height and wall to block off for lessons. Decent sized changing cubicles and toilets. Shower area is open plan and right next to pool. Seating area if your have kids in for lessons where there are comfortable leather single seats. On the wall there is lots of information about the swimming club. 3 stars as it is a basic pool with no other facilities like flumes or water play areas. Given the size of the building this is no surprise. Staff are welcoming helpful and friendly.
