Kensington Palace is one of the best places in London to experience the history of the British monarchy while still seeing a working royal residence. As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series novels, I travel extensively researching the real archaeological sites, castles, palaces, medieval fortifications, ancient mysteries, museums, and historic locations that inspire my novels. Kensington Palace is exactly the kind of place I seek out because you can literally walk through centuries of royal history. The palace is divided into several public exhibition areas, including the King’s State Apartments, the Queen’s State Apartments, and galleries featuring royal fashion, jewelry, artwork, and historical displays. Each section offers a different perspective on the monarchs, nobles, and members of the royal family who lived here over the centuries. One of the most interesting things I learned was that portions of Kensington Palace were opened to the public during Queen Victoria’s era, while much of the complex remains private. Today, large sections of the palace continue to serve as official royal residences. I highly recommend the audio guide. The exhibits become dramatically more meaningful when you understand the historical context behind what you’re seeing. Without it, it would be easy to walk through many of the rooms without fully appreciating their significance. The staff and docents were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions throughout the visit. We spent about two and a half hours exploring at a relaxed pace and never felt rushed. History enthusiasts could easily spend even longer here. Whether you’re interested in British history, royal life, architecture, photography, or simply one of London’s most iconic historic landmarks, Kensington Palace is absolutely worth visiting.

An incredible palace. Such grandeur and history. It will live up to all your expectations. Also, ate a snack at the cafe-delicious! Def recommend buying tickets in advance .We went on a Sunday and we're also able to attend services at St George Cathedral. Just lovely.

Incredible place, well worth visiting, however quite pricey. Nevertheless it is fantastic to step in the home where queen Victoria was living as a child and announced as Queen! Gardens are beautiful as well with recent statue of her by the pool. Lots of quirky things in the palace too!

How breathtaking and historical experience it was for me. It's stunning ceilings, art , collected artifacts and most of all the stories that lives in the palace alone is worth visiting here. The gardens as equally beautiful as the interiors of the palace. I loved the Cafe and souvenirs shops. I always buy a magnet to add to my collection of visiting museums. A day very well spent.
