Its small, but it is worth going just for the otters! There is also a fish tunnel and leaf cutters ants. Beautiful fish are arranged in location displays (tropical and seaside). There are also some reptiles! We recommend going on the Windermere boats and getting the combined tickets.

We visited the lakes aquarium on a Wednesday afternoon in term time with our 4 year old and had a fantastic time. Plenty of parking, not cheap but right outside the train station & aquarium. We pre booked tickets the day before as it was cheaper. No queue yet on reception. We visited at about 13:00 and it was quiet. Excellent use of space, exhibition areas were clean and tidy. All the fish and animals looked well cared for and they have made excellent use of all the soace. It's not a huge place, but we spent just over an hour here. For £21.99 as a family of 3 we felt this was excellent value for money. Just be aware the toilet facilities are on the train station platform. There are no toilets in the venue. We would highly recommend this as a rainy day activity!

I Booked both a cruise to Bowness and the aquarium visit as part of a package to save money. It turned out to be a really good deal! We looked round the aquarium first and there are lots of interesting creatures to see, so it's well worth a visit, but it's smaller than I thought. I allowed 2 hours to look round it with the grandchildren before the cruise but it only took an hour.

It was surprising as it doesn't look much from the outside but impressed with the displays, we had the place to ourselves, late in the day visit during a weekday so it didn't take long for us to go round. Not just fish, there were Ants and frogs and otters so lots to see. We would recommend

We love aquariums, so whe we found this was not too far away from where we were, we decided to drive along for a visit. A lovely aquarium on the bank of the lake. Lot to see and keep visitors of any age entertained and occupied during your visit. From fish, otters, rays and more there is something for everyone. One thing I did find was really cool was the ducks from outside can swim in and join the other fish in the aquarium. Something I had never seen in an aquarium before. There is a nice little gift shop with the usual items to entice you to spend you money. No tearoom/restaurant on the premises but whe you exit the aquarium there is a little tearoom directly across where you can get a bite to eat and a drink with even more gift items to spend tour money on. We would visit here again as there is so much to do in the one place. There are boat tours and steam train rides as well. We didn't have time for the boat tour or the steam train ride but that's our excuse to go back.
