Solve cryptic puzzles and uncover mysteries across twelve immersive escape room adventures set in authentic period locations across Somerset and Devon.

Lock and Code operates three award-winning escape room venues across the South West, each offering uniquely crafted narrative experiences. Weston-super-Mare features family-friendly fantasy and tech thriller rooms, Taunton houses six gritty, story-driven mysteries within a historic paper mill setting, and Red House Mysteries in Exeter presents cinematic adventures ranging from heist to cold-war sci-fi scenarios. Each room is meticulously designed in-house with period-correct props, custom electronics, atmospheric lighting, and hand-built furniture that creates fully immersive worlds. Players have one hour to solve puzzles and uncover the story, with trained hosts providing subtle guidance when needed. The venue prioritizes narrative quality above all else—every room must tell a compelling story worthy of stepping inside. Established in 2016 and recognized as a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice 2026 venue, Lock and Code welcomes families and groups ages 8 and above. The company offers gift vouchers, multiple locations for convenient booking, and occasionally hosts special events like live-actor murder mystery experiences. All venues are dog-friendly and operate on a booking-required basis.

Excellent experience! We went as a group of 6 and had a great time. The instructors were very polite and detailed in their instructions about the room and how to go about solving the puzzles. I would definetly go back and try the other rooms they have on offer. Would highly reccommend!

5 stars!!!! Warm welcome. We did the Harry Potter room. It's at the edge of a small industrial estate. The old Google pictures are not where it is now. Really enjoyed!

First escape room experience as family with a daughter who is 11. Host was great and the escape room was really interesting and good level of challenge. Really good location (Weston-super-Mare room) which is easy to get to. We'll definitely visit again

Four of us completed 'return to the chamber' today for a mini-hen party. It was nothing short of genius! Loved the puzzles and twists and turns. Our Games Master, Lucy, was exceptionally good and guided us when needed. The room was full of bits and bobs and we genuinely felt like we were in Harry Potter world!! Thoroughly recommend to all Harry Potter fans and anyone who loves an escape room. Bloody brilliant!!!!
