Came swimming with my 1 year old and 2 month old. Receptionist was completely uninterested and looked like she just wanted to go home. Not very friendly nor helpful. The aqua play area water was way too cold for the children so we tried the bigger pool ( the training pool was at full capacity) this was slightly warmer but still much too cold for the babies who were both shivering. Wasn’t in the pool for more than 10 minutes, absolute waste and won’t be bringing them again.

My husband, me, and our 15 month old daughter, visited the Marina Leisure Centre on holiday. On arrival at Reception, it was clear the person booking us in was in training. She was friendly, but unfamiliar with booking people in and another member of staff was helping her. We booked swimming for the three of us and were asked if we would also like to book Aqua Play. As it was 9.00am, and Aqua Play didn't open until 10am, we said we would see how our 15 month old daughter got on with swimming first, and then come out and add Aqua Play on to our booking if she was settled in the water and happy to continue. Both members of staff said that would be fine. We paid for swimming, and at 9.55am, our daughter was still settled, so my husband returned to add on Aqua Play, at which point he was told by the same two members of staff that he couldn't add it on, and would need to pay for swimming again, along with Aqua Play. So basically we would be charged twice for swimming. As I was in the pool with our daughter, my husband had no way of speaking with me, so after querying this with the two members of staff with no positive outcome, he ended up paying the money so he could get back to us. This was because, before he left, we had told our daughter she would be going into Aqua Play, and he didn't want to go back on what she was expecting. When we left the pool, my husband asked for a refund for one of the swimming sessions because we had paid twice. He requested this politely from the same two members of staff, who declined this. He asked to speak with the manager (Laura Hume) who was sat in her office and refused to come out and speak to him. We were told we could send an email instead. This sets a terrible example for staff. I would have no problem with the need to pay for both swimming and Aqua Play upfront. This is understandable. However, what is not understandable, is that when we said we would add on Aqua Play later, we were told this was fine by both members of staff. At no point did either member of staff mention that this wouldn't be possible. This is misleading. When my husband asked if Laura Hume, the manager, was fine with the fact that we had paid twice for swimming, he was told 'there wasn't a button to add on Aqua Play.' This is not what we were initially told at the point of purchase. In addition to this, Aqua Play also opened 5 minutes late, by two members of staff who didn't apologise or thank us for waiting, and had absolutely zero sense of urgency, in fact they couldn't have been more glacial to open the door to a queue full of customers. The Marina Centre has no problem taking money from families who are trying to enjoy their holiday. I would encourage anyone that attends the Marina Centre to heavily question the price of their services so that you won't be unpleasantly surprised and charged twice.

On paying to enter swimming we asked if we could come back out and add on access to the Aqua Play. We were told by both members of staff at reception that we could. We paid for regular swim with our daughter for approx. £14. We then decided to add on the Aqua Play, when I came back out I was charged approx £21, and told I couldn't add on Aqua Play, but had to purchase swimming and Aqua Play - effectively paying for swimming twice. I paid. Later I came to request refund for the difference, explaining that we were told we could add this on. The staff member went to speak with their manager (Laura Hume). They came back out saying that they wouldn't issue a refund on the difference and Laura was too busy to come out to speak, but we could send her an email. Even though she was sitting a room literally next to the reception area. I believe this was a reasonable request, as we were told we could add on Aqua Play, and the adjustments would have meant we were paying the appropriate amount for the services we used. I also think it's poor that Laura wouldn't come out to take a couple of moments to speak with a customer. As a manager this sets a poor example around responding to customer issues/complaints in a proactive way. A small change in how they responded here could have made a huge difference.

We visited here whilst on holiday, and upon entering the receptionists were amazing and friendly, they did not have many swim nappies put out on sale so I would recommend taking your own. Changing rooms were lovely, the showers were pretty hot though. When entering the splash zone, it was really crowded and it seemed that there was only one lifeguard to man a splash zone and two slides? The slides were fun, but there was no life guard manning the top, so people were going down two at a time, on their front or backwards which is so dangerous. Someone was sick in the main pool, so they allowed everybody from that main pool into the splash zone area, it got way too over-crowded fast and we had to leave. We went to the cafe, and I'm sorry but you need more than two people manning it. There was 10 of us alone ordering, and the poor lady was rushed off her feet. Our coffees etc were half full and mainly foam. When we went to order the lunch boxes, they told me they were out of sandwiches (it was 4pm) so we had to pick something else. We ended up spending about £40 on 2 adult meals, 3 kids meals and 6 drinks. The pizza was a frozen pizza, and it came out burnt to a crisp, my partner could hardly eat it. £8 for a pizza that looks like it's straight out of Tescos freezer aisle, and the 'chef' can't even cook it right! The jacket potatoes were ok, nothing special.

Review for Wall Climbing . We brought our 11 year and 5 year old granddaughters here , they both had a great time , both hesitant at first to go very high but were soon getting to the top once their confidence grew . The 2 instructors were great and on hand if you needed them 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
