It was my first time visiting a lavender plantation, so I have mixed feelings (50/50). The lavender bushes were quite short, and there was a lot of space between the rows—I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be. However, I really liked the photo zones! The telephone booth, the tractor, and the heart shape were great for pictures. Thank you for the reply. However, visitors pay the entrance fee for the current experience, not for what the field will look like in a couple of seasons. Considering the high entrance fee, there should be clear information in advance that the plants are currently young and sparse. My disappointment is based on the reality today, not future prospects."

Lovely half day trip to the Lavender Farm with a friend. From Central London we took the train (Oyster card also works) from Victoria Station to Purley and took an Uber to the farm. Walked around in the beautiful field, took pics and had tea with lavender scones. They have very nice seating arrangements. They have a small cafe with bakery items plus hot dog and pizza also sold, a bar too for those who enjoy beer! We were lucky with the weather (in July) was not very hot, it was rather pleasant. Gift shop had a variety of lavender products.

Lovely day trip walking through vibrant purple rows of fresh lavender, especially as the sun is starting to come out! Some parts of the field are yet to bloom & a little dry given the recent heatwave, but there are pretty pockets of fuller growth too. Beautiful glimpses of wildlife with a variety of bees, butterflies and ladybirds fluttering through the fields 🐞🐝 cute little corner with fresh food, bakes, drinks and souvenirs - even a little spritz station for when it gets really hot! Loved the bottled lavender still lemonade - nice & tart with a touch of floral, perfect on a hot day. Definitely worth a visit 💜

Our family visit to Mayfield Lavender Farm – a rainy lunchtime trip We arrived with the family right around lunchtime, and unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side – it was raining. Still, we decided to make the best of it. The farm itself is beautiful, even under grey skies. The 25 acres of organic lavender still looked lovely, though the rain meant we couldn't wander through the fields for long. We headed straight to the on-site café to warm up and grab some food. Lunch was a pleasant surprise – we had pizza (not something I'd expected at a lavender farm!), and it hit the spot. The café area was sheltered, so we could eat in comfort while listening to the rain outside. After lunch, the rain hadn't let up, so we made the call to leave a bit earlier than planned. We didn't get to explore the fields properly or take many photos, but we still caught a glimpse of the famous red phone box and the vintage tractor from a distance. A few tips from our rainy-day experience: · If rain is forecast, bring wellies and umbrellas – the paths can get muddy. · The pizza was a nice warm option, so check what the café is serving that day. · Even if you leave early, it's still a nice family outing – just be prepared to cut things short if the weather doesn't cooperate. We'll definitely go back on a sunny day to really enjoy the full purple experience. But for a rainy lunchtime pizza stop? Not bad at all.

The place is heaving, I wouldn’t bother, you can’t get any nice pictures. It would be nicer if you could prebook and they limited the amount of people. Unfortunately not a nice experience at all. As per the response, I think there’s an element of greed here, as previously stated allowing people to prebook would limit the amount of people there at one time, this amount of people when you can’t take in the scenery or get a nice picture is ridiculous and not worth visiting.
