The alpine coaster is great! We had 3 shots each. However you have to get off after every one!! badly sign posted, grounds need a good tidy up! Cafe needs total renovation,if the council cannot maintain offer it to a private investor!!Pot holes everywhere .There is so much more that can be done with this place.Real shame !!

Really disappointed. We arrived within our 30 minute timeslot from 3pm-3:30pm, we arrived at 3:20. There are signs showing to climb up the steps on the right near the ski slopes for the alpine coaster and when we got to the member of staff there they told us we need to walk down to the other side and they will be able to serve us. We did and then we were told we can’t use the coaster as it’s ‘too late now’ and they are ‘closed’. Funny because two ladies were just coming off of the coaster as we got there. Very poor communication between staff as our person said we can just go and another said not to. Very poorly managed too as the signs are in the wrong place. Spent £14 on the ticket, and spent £15 for the uber there and £17 for the uber back, waste of £46. Ruined our visit to Edinburgh, please sort out the poor management and miscommunication. We were only in Edinburgh for two days and was a birthday present to my husband, he was so excited about the coaster and we left disheartened, our day ruined.

The centre itself is a bit run down but has had a new lease of life with the opening of the alpine descent ride. Cafes good value for money so don't hesitate to have breakfast or lunch on a snack there.

Fun place to go spend an afternoon with the family. We tried the tubing and kids loved it. Make sure to book in advance.

The Midlothian Snowsports Centre at Hillend is a brilliant day out for all ages! There’s plenty of parking, and the one-way system makes getting in and out hassle-free. Toilets near ticket office The toboggan ride is a real highlight — fast, fun, and perfect for thrill-seekers. On top of that, the spectacular views across the Pentland Hills make the whole experience even more memorable. Whether you’re there for skiing, snowboarding, or just the toboggans, it’s a fantastic spot with something for everyone.
