Really cool secluded castle that you can easily access by driving right up next to it, you can wander around unguided and explore the surprisingly large castle (at the time, we were the only people there

The most northern castle in UK. Very well kept. Inside is good to explore. Plenty of signs describing the history.

Brilliant castle. Felt very spooky from the get-go with a super creaky heavy door. If you turn left you will be plunged into the pitch dark, so take a torch or have your phone torch ready to use. Down that way there’s quite a few chambers. Up to the right there’s more light and stairs up to the rest of the castle. There’s lots of rooms, fantastic views and definitely worth a visit

We visited here through the week and had the place to ourselves. There is parking next to the Castle but would need to park further up the road if busy as small parking area. Inside the box where the torches were there was 1 left so not sure if people have been taking them but the batteries didn't work. The downstairs of the castle is dark but used our phones for torches. It is a beautiful castle, inside structure is impressive. We had a good wander and read the information signs. Would recommend a visit.
