National Trust – Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters is an absolutely breathtaking place. The views of the white cliffs and coastline are unforgettable, and the colors of the water are stunning—shades of blue and turquoise that make this beach feel different from so many others. It's a wonderful place for a walk, taking photos, or simply enjoying nature. If you're visiting the area, this is definitely a spot you shouldn't miss.

Probably one of the best beaches to come to. At low tide does have sandy beach. Beautiful cliffs. Relax on the beach or on the cliffs. Something for everyone! You can go for a proper hike or a short hike or no hikes. It's definitely worth visiting this place! Please remember to clean up after yourself. Take your rubbish with you. Let others enjoy what you just enjoyed. And let's take care of the planet!

This is a place of wonderful natural beauty, however it gets incredibly busy on weekends and when the weather is good. But don't let that put you off. Having been here during the busy period, I can say it was still a pleasant spot for a walk. The parking could be tricky when it's busy but there is a fair amount of national trust parking, so it's easier and cheaper if you have a national trust membership. Lots of others park along the road roo. On the other hand, I've been here in the winter where there were only a handful of people around and it was still equally stunning and far more peaceful. So you can't really go wrong here truth be told. The walk between here and Eastbourne is lovely too. Give it a go. Just be careful of seagulls, they may try to steal your sandwich!

The site is well managed by the National Trust, with good facilities including parking, a visitor centre, and a café. There are clear walking paths and signposts, making it easy to explore safely. The access down to the beach via the steps at Birling Gap is a highlight, though it can be a bit steep, so comfortable footwear is definitely recommended. One thing to keep in mind is that the cliffs are constantly eroding, so certain areas are restricted for safety reasons. It’s important to follow the guidelines and stay within marked paths. The weather can also change quickly along the coast, so it’s a good idea to check conditions before visiting. Overall, Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters offer one of the most scenic coastal experiences in the UK. It’s an ideal spot for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone looking for a relaxing day out with incredible views. Definitely worth the visit if you’re anywhere near the South Coast.

Birling Gap is looked after by the National Trust and offers good facilities like toilets, shop and cafe. The carpark is also NT so is free to members. The walk on the east side passes Belle Tout Lighthouse and looks down on Beachy Head Lighthouse and eventually Eastbourne. Quite a steep climb in places, but the path is good and comfortable to walk on. Walking westwards takes you to the Seven (or now eight!) Sisters and views across the national park and river estuary. Also steep in places but again a comfortable walk with amazing views. When we went near the end of March the terrain was all dry.
