North Shore Beach is Llandudno’s main beach and one of the town’s most famous attractions. Sheltered by the Great Orme and Little Orme headlands, it features a long promenade that has attracted visitors since Victorian times. The beach offers beautiful views across the bay, with the iconic Llandudno Pier stretching into the sea and elegant Victorian hotels lining the waterfront.

The beach itself is a mix of sand and pebbles, so it’s not the softest underfoot, but it adds to its natural, rugged beauty. There are some sandy patches, especially near the pier, which are great for relaxing or just sitting and watching the sea. It’s not a wild or dramatic beach — it’s calm, gentle, and perfect for unwinding. Whether you visit during a quiet morning or a golden sunset, the atmosphere here feels soothing and unhurried.

A wonderful place to sit, relax, and enjoy the breeze. They have speed boats on sometimes which is quite enjoyable if they are running. Plenty of shops, food places nearby.

I visited North Shore Beach in December, just a few days before Christmas, and it was such a peaceful and refreshing experience. We stayed one night in Llandudno, which is perfectly located right in front of the beach. Even though it was winter, the beach had its own special charm. The cold breeze, sound of the waves, and beautiful views of the promenade made it feel calm and magical. The Christmas season added a lovely festive touch to the town, and evening walks along the seafront were the highlight of our stay. It wasn’t crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. It’s a perfect place if you want a quiet seaside break, especially during the winter months. Waking up to the sea view was absolutely worth it! Would definitely love to visit again, maybe in summer next time.✨
