This is a lovely park area. There are some areas that are a little run down, but on the whole is is well looked after and a pleasant place for a walk, even on a wet day. The aviary was lovely as were the wild Parakeets that flew over me near the pond. There are some lovely features such a the Chinese Bell Tower.

The Nottingham Arboretum is such a stunning little escape right in the city! 🌳 As one of the oldest public parks in the country, it's got this wonderful historic charm that you can really feel as you wander through the beautifully landscaped grounds 🏛️. The variety of trees and plant species is incredible — a real treat for nature lovers and those who just love a relaxing afternoon outdoors 🌸. The bandstand and ornamental lake add such a lovely touch to the whole atmosphere, making it ideal for a quiet stroll or a peaceful picnic ☀️🧺. Completely free to enter and right on the doorstep of the city — honestly don't sleep on this one! 💚

I was really looking forward to this .. i asked to make sure we visited.. i had marked it as 3 stars as there were a number of things that were disappointing/frustrating but then i decided i was being unfair...theres no loo or cafe despite there looking on map/other like theres both.. it was interesting to see the labels for trees i thought i knew like the oak and horsechestnut - despite it being summer i expected a more obvious variation in the trees but (i know im lucky as live near some awesome parks) not much different that id see anywhere else. The pond by the uni/bottom entrance was enticing, i wasnt gutted that the aviary was empty but i wonder if some may have been. We walked through the cental path initially which was nice enough but came back (mainly because we needed to head back to town and alternative was apparently busy main roads which arent often best to walk down and definitely not on one of the hottest days of the year!!) the top path past the Chinese pagoda and the fruit and nut orchard (this made me smile as it was full of people sunbathing and so made me comment that only mad dogs and englishman go out - and sunbathe- in the midday sun). It was pretty and popular but didnt seem too busy, nice to have a few families enjoying it as well as all the students.. because we came from town i did wonder if the bit beyond the bridge may offer more but was just a nice path out into the houses.

Wonderful walk, loads of interesting tidbits. A few trees were blooming, but many of them are still in winter hibernation. Enjoyed just wandering around. Plan to take the kids next time.

This is a lovely park in the City centre, a much need green space. It is not too large an easy to walk around with a tree trail to enjoy. Plenty of wildlife, watch out for the squirrels. Has a band stand and regularly hosts events. There are a number of statues and monuments around the park as well as a Chinese Bell Tower. It is a great place for a short walk with lots of benches and places to enjoy a picnic away from the busy City.
