Okay. I usually have a lot to say about contemporary art. But this place was truly something. A small, unassuming museum/gallery but a very nicely curated one with an excellent gift shop outside and all very affordable. At the time I went, there were two expositions: a Chico Da Silva one with excellent colours and lightings and a functional gym whose weights were old Greek/Roman sculptures. Everyone was so nice; the museum is free, but they usually encourage donations. They require a reservation to get inside, but you can just get it right there and then; they will show you how. And they do a bunch of events! Very recommended!

Popped in for a drink and cake and thoroughly enjoyed both! Cake was good, just what you need and expect, and the fresh smoothie was great. Comfortable seats, nice staff and interesting literature and pamphlets to browse and talk about whilst relaxing. Well worth a visit !

Nottingham Contemporary is a really nice gallery and well worth visiting. It is smaller in scale compared to some of the larger galleries I have been to, but that is not a bad thing. The space feels more focused, and the exhibitions are thoughtfully curated. They rotate regularly, so there is usually something new to see each time you visit. I have been two or three times, and most of the exhibitions have been genuinely impressive. Some have not quite been for me, but that is the nature of art being subjective. Overall, there is usually something that will appeal to a wide range of visitors. The staff are helpful and welcoming, often providing leaflets and additional information to help you get more out of the exhibitions. The whole space is well maintained and has a really good atmosphere. I would recommend booking tickets online in advance, as it makes the process much smoother and helps you avoid queuing. While you can book in person, doing it online is definitely more convenient. There is also an excellent café downstairs, which is well worth a visit and adds to the overall experience. Overall, it is a great local gallery that I would happily visit again and recommend to others.
