This is so much more than an aquarium, it’s an immersive and up close experience of the amazing diversity of sea life in the Pembrokeshire waters. Our guide Lloyd was exceptionally knowledgable and engaging, and we were lucky to be in a small group with university students interning at the Lab, which led to lively discussion. Make sure you see the new luminous wall on your way through! Feeding time at 3 o clock is a brilliant time to see the anemones and other creatures come to life. The award winning taxidermy is a strange recommendation but you see the sea birds in action which is incredible!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Phenomenal and Inspiring Visit! My wife and I made a visit to the Ocean Lab today, and it was absolutely outstanding. The entire team was incredibly lovely, welcoming, and professional from the moment we arrived. Our young tour guide, Ruth, was a absolute joy. She was exceptionally enthusiastic and brought a wonderful energy to the whole experience. At 70 years old, my wife and I have been around a bit, but we learned a massive amount from this brilliant young lady. Her depth of knowledge is truly remarkable for someone so young! We had a great amount of fun during the tour. The absolute highlight was getting to see a live crab actively shedding its shell, which was an incredible sight to witness. We cannot recommend this experience enough! Brilliant and eye-opening experience of what we can find in UK rock pools (apart from the Terrapin). Knowledgeable staff who helped spot the smaller critters and shared the fun attitudes they witnessed. I stayed way too long and got close ups of the starfish and snails eating with an Apexel lens. It felt good to visit and help towards the conservation efforts :)
We ended up here accidentally after going to the rock pools, I didn’t looked at this but based on if you’ve decided not to go as it seemed a bit expensive for what was there? I’m so glad we went to use the toilet and purchased a ticket ticket. It was quite due to the time of day that we went in and the team that could not have been more helpful. They made my daughter feel special fantastic for information on what’s in the aquarium of white in there and allowed her to interact with animals that I experienced in any other aquarium I cannot be more grateful to the team and the kinds that they showed me and my family on a visit.
Very interesting visit to the center and aquarium today. The guide was very informative and engaged well with the group. I liked seeing the various forms of sealife that was all locally sourced, and found it interesting how they are to be released back into the water later on. The tanks were quite small and everything was local so don't go in expecting big sharks and octopus and fish from all over, but I enjoyed what I saw! PS, big fan of Geezer the crab.
