We had a great time here! Very organised and chilled out, cool playlist and a good selection of things to paint. The staff were quite hands off and didn’t give any guidance after the first initial instructions but we actually didn’t mind this. Others may prefer more guidance though.

We were really disappointed with our visit. 3 of us went to do pottery painting booked in advance. When we turned up there was a queue outside the door with only 1 young girl behind the counter alone who looked very stressed.we waited in line for approx 10,mins. Then we got told we hadn’t booked and another girl came over who said no no they have booked. It seemed very disorganised! Once sat down at the table we waited about 15 mins for any paint and brushes to be brought over to the table. We then waited another 15 mins for any drinks we ordered at the start to be brought over. Felt like a long waiting game. No staff around to ask questions to, 3 young girls absoloutely rushed off their feet! We felt sorry for them to be honest but we really didn’t enjoy our experience especially for the price! Very disappointed and felt like one big waiting game.

I have visited Pictura before and had a wonderful experience, which is why I brought a friend this time. However, this recent visit was disappointing due to a series of avoidable mishaps: Misleading Instructions: We were told by a staff member we could use paints from the shelves, only to be told later via email that those paints made our items non-food safe. Then, on the next email it felt blame heavy, implying we just helped ourselves to the wrong supplies, when in reality it was due to that staff’s mishap. Unfulfilled Promises: I was told then via email that my items would be varnished to compensate for the paint error. When I arrived for pickup, they were wrapped and handed to me unvarnished with no mention of the change in plan. Only realised once I arrived at home. Staffing Issues: During the event, staff were largely absent, making it difficult to ask questions or get guidance. I hope they improve in the future as it’s a very nice place!

Such an awesome idea. This art cafe is great for a range of drinks and snacks. Great friendly staff and in a very gorgeous part of Chester. You can paint pottery while having a drink and they then fire it for you. Perfect for a date, friends or a party. Highly recommended
