Such a lovely escape from reality, so tranquil and peaceful. Beautiful gardens, The ducks were extremely friendly, and myself and friend enjoyed watching the businesses of the wildlife in motion. We will definitely come back.

Lovely gardens, especially the cottage garden ✨. Generally a lovely day out for all ages. The gardens are quite vast, but staged in a way that provides loads of ideas you can take back to your own garden. They have good labelling, that can help you decide which plants go where. The garden shop has good reasonably priced plants and helpful staff. There is also a good choice of places to eat. The portions are rather large, great for sharing. Lots of parking a short walk away from everything. It was a pretty dull day weather-wise on the day we went but not cold and still the gardens were very beautiful.

Beautiful and varied gardens that are relaxing, inspiring, educational and just lovely to wander around. I'm sure everyone will have their favourite areas and of course it will be changing with the seasons. The cafes are good and reasonably priced and most people are going to buy a plant (or bigger) from the garden centre on their way out. We'll be going again little later in the year to see (and smell) the the gardens in the summer and then a little later in the autumn - or any time we just want a little break from everything else.

Southend-on-Sea is the perfect coastal getaway for a refreshing day by the water. With the world's longest pleasure pier and a vibrant seafront, it offers a classic British seaside experience that never fails to uplift the mood. Walking along the shoreline at Southend-on-Sea felt incredibly peaceful. The vastness of the sea under a clear blue sky makes it an ideal spot to relax and soak in the fresh ocean breeze. Whether you are walking on the famous pier or just sitting on the beach, the atmosphere is wonderful. • Scenic Highlights: The views of the Thames Estuary are beautiful, especially as the sun reflects off the water. The pier is a must-visit, offering a unique perspective of the coast as you walk nearly 1.3 miles out into the sea. • Activities: There’s plenty to do! From the thrills at Adventure Island to enjoying some classic fish and chips by the beach. It’s a great place for photography, as the colors of the sea and the sky create a stunning backdrop. • Tips: 1. The Pier Train: If you don’t feel like walking the full length of the pier, take the train for a fun and easy ride. 2. Check the Tide: The beach looks completely different during high and low tides, so check the timings if you want to enjoy the water. 3. Sunset: If you can stay until evening, the sunset over the water is absolutely magical. It’s a lovely destination for a quick escape from the city, offering a mix of fun, relaxation, and beautiful scenery.

Beautiful, natural gardens. Really impressed with the coffee too! Loved that the gardens weren't pruned to within an inch of their lives, and the natural borders, grassy paths and open spaces to wander and explore invited you into every nook and cranny, with ample hidden benches and seating areas for you to take a minute. Thoroughly enjoyed wandering around for hours, and especially liked the large pond with cafe next to it near the dry garden. 100% would recommend a visit for singles, couples, families and whoever else wants to enjoy being surrounded by nature for a few hours! Large, free parking areas and simple, smooth entry process made arrival and departure quick and easy.
