Our first visit to this beach and we loved it. It wasn't packed with people and the sea was calm and peaceful to look at. We walked up to Roker Lighthouse and back along the high street. Hardly any seaside shops mainly pubs and restaurants that only open up in the evening.

The experience was lovely! We went there during heat wave and the water was fresh, not very cold, felt like a therapy😍

So, I can say, I could've had a better experience here, but it's getting a 3 stars simply for the rubbish that I see that gets left on the beach. Overall, excluding that, it is a perfect beach for dog walking and just walking in general. Had a good experience and met some lovely people here

Beautiful beach, dogs are only allowed on the lower half of the beach in summer so make sure you check the signs as you can get a £100 fine by accident! But beautiful beach with 2 lighthouses close together. When the tide is out there's loads of sand to walk on and some rock pools as well. Great for your dog to sniff!
