It's small and quaint. Nice walks along a flat promenade, bus shelters to sit and eat your chips or have an ice cream. If you feel energetic, you can walk all the way along the Promenade to Sandown. Outside of this, there is really only one way in and out of the seafront, and that is via a quite steep road. Car Parking for such a small area is usually quite good, although, like anywhere else, when it is very busy, parking can be a challenge.

Lovely place to visit day or night. We were fortunate to visit on Aug 10th when they were celebrating the 170th anniversary of the Shanklin Regatta. It was the night before our 27th anniversary and said to my wife that it’s like the fireworks were for us personally. Enjoyed them more than New Year’s Eve that are done in London. Well done Shanklin on showing the Mayor of London a proper light show. Went back next afternoon to enjoy a round of outdoor crazy golf and have an ice cream walking down the Esplanade.
