Family trip here for a kids birthday party. Staff were excellent interacting with the kids, both mine had a t time. My daughter hurt herself (nothing serious) and the young lady lifeguarding was lovely with her.

The gym is decent enough. It helps that it’s the only one around, so if you live locally and want to lift, this is pretty much your only option. I’d rather have a smaller gym with limited equipment that gets the job done than no gym at all. The problem, and the main reason for my low score, is the number of teenagers wandering around with little interest in actually training. They mostly get in the way and make the place feel overcrowded. There’s also a lot of tailgating, and I seriously doubt all of those kids have memberships. Until another gym opens in the area, I’m kind of a hostage to this place. A small tragedy of modern gym culture: half the building is there to work out, the other half appears to be on a school field trip.

Shipston Leisure Centre is fantastic for swimming lessons. I moved my elder daughter from a very expensive private swim school where she wasn’t progressing into Suzanne Verill’s stage 7 class and she rapidly flourished. My younger daughter has been taught by Suzanne Verill since she was three. Suzanne has been utterly wonderful with her, nurturing her and encouraging her to the point where now, at 7 years old, she has completed her final stage 10 badge. Suzanne (and Sue) are both brilliant teachers and I can thoroughly recommend the centre for swimming lessons.

Our whole family has used the facilities for years. All three of my children have been taught to swim there by some fantastic swim teachers. In particular Suzanne and Sue who have been so supportive and enthusiastic. I have used the gym there for years and although smaller than some it is always making improvements and a good place to train. Easy to park and a lovely friendly atmosphere.

Great place to swim or workout in the gym. Staff are very friendly, and facilities are clean, well maintained and well equipped. The gym has a variety of different equipment, from Cardio to resistance. Membership is very reasonable, and the long opening hours means it's great for an early morning or late night workout. Swimming lessons are available here.
