Such a lovely maintained park with a great children's play area. The jewels in the crown are the amazing Dequoias otherwise known as California Redwoods.

Spanning 128 acres in South Belfast, Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park is a majestic rolling estate that effortlessly fuses horticultural excellence with lively community events. The Trails: Walkers can explore three distinctive routes—the flat Garden Trail (1.1 miles, easy), which winds past the Japanese and Walled Gardens; the scenic Meadow Trail (1.78 miles, moderate) tracing the River Lagan; and the undulating Woodland Trail (1.93 miles, moderate) traversing denser canopies. Amenities: Home to the world-renowned City of Belfast International Rose Garden (holding over 20,000 blooms), a large children’s playground, and The Stables Coffee Shop. Accessible toilets and dedicated parking are available at both the upper and lower entrances. 2026 Summer Music & Events: The park is buzzing this season. The legendary Summer Rose Fair runs from Friday 3 July to Sunday 5 July 2026, delivering a vibrant weekend of floral art, family entertainment, and tribute bands. Additionally, Belfast's official Music in the Parks scheme comes to the estate on Sunday 6 September 2026 (2pm–5pm), showcasing live brass and concert performances. Recommendations: Visit during early July to experience the international rose trials at peak bloom. Utilize the free council shuttle bus from City Hall during major events to bypass vehicle parking congestion.

Nice in every season , magnolias and camilias are magnificent now Don't forget to pop in to Japanese garden too!

Lovely place for a stroll of the stunning scenery around the park even not in the season of the roses. Seducive meadows, interesting woodland and few gardens - all so well kept! Pleasant cofe shop.

This is a very nice park to visit for a lovely long not too difficult walk there are many routes that wind through the park all of which will offer you a different and enjoyable experience of being close to Mother Nature . There should be enough parking space in either of its two large car parks within the park area . This is a lovely visit and I do recommend you try it .
