Our first time visiting on a sunny day, it was 25 degrees. Clear shallow waters, great for all ages. Lots of paddle boarders and swimmers. More of a family beach rather than surfing. Parking opposite but we struggled to find a spot for about 20 mins. Can get quite busy before 3pm. Road to the beach is tiny with lots of free parking up that road (there is a steep hill to climb from the beach back). Pay by phone app available, very little phone signal so best to bring cash for the parking. Beach was somewhat clean. The tide does basically close up the entire beach so get there for low tide for guaranteed fun.

South Sands is a gem! Amazing views, crystal-clear water, and a great beach bar with delicious food. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Good coffee shop, nice beach, but very yummy mummy with the posh hotels on the beach! Took the tractor and boat to Salcombe, its fun

Great little beach with plenty to do and lovely scenic views.. Very good area to stay if you fancy a break in Salcombe. Ferry available to the town, decent cafe on the beach. Kayak and paddle board hire also available. If your a beach person worth a try.

Beautiful area, the beach itself is a little small so could get cramped if busy, but the beach bar provides everything you could want, and had great covid protections/systems in place. The best views come from a short walk along the coastal path... Honestly it's a crime to not take a quick peek from the top 😍 The road down to the area is tiny (I'm not sure if there is an alternative but I couldn't find one) so if you have a large vehicle, take care! There is parking in a National Trust car park at a flat rate of £6 (payment by phone) for the whole day, plenty of spaces available.
