It’s a beautiful harbour and weather being drizzling when we visited, it added beauty to this place. Try to visit if possible and you will fall in love.

Beautiful views of St. Ives bay. In addition to the multiple boats, fisherman & joy riders, there is a bustling tourist trade and shop keepers do well in the warm weather & holidays. St. Leonard’s chapel is easily over looked. It sits on the left side of the bay wall. Sailors goin f to sea have a place to go and pray for safe return home after their voyages. Like the view and relaxing atmosphere around St. Ives.

If you have never been, go, if you’ve been before you will go again! St. Ives is one of the very few places in the UK that gets into your very soul, friendly but not friendly, busy but not busy, I’ll guarantee you will find it all in St. Ives but one thing you will want to do is come back. This is the one Cornish town that draws you back, the light, oh my, the light is astonishing, no wonder so many artists love this place, I can tell you, they are not on their own.

After a scenic 5-hour train ride from Bath, St Ives welcomes you like a soft breeze after a long day—calming, refreshing, and undeniably beautiful. Nestled along Cornwall’s northern coast, this seaside town is nothing short of a postcard come to life. The beaches are the crown jewels—Porthminster Beach greets you right by the station, perfect for unwinding after your journey. Walk further and you’ll find Porthmeor, popular among surfers and sunset seekers. The turquoise waters, golden sands, and gentle waves make each beach unique, yet equally mesmerizing.

Well it’s a very quaint harbour . St Ives is a very busy place even out of season . If you want to park , get here early. It is a very photogenic place and has very aggressive seagulls . The harbour front is awash with pubs and coffee shops and the town is full of nice little artisan shops . Including Joe Downs , who makes the most amazing things out of glass . Her copper fish are my personal favourite. Enjoy your stay , be patient with the townsfolk who have to have deliveries to bring the food, drink and all the other things you will buy.
