Visit websiteThe staff is so amazing and cheerful, they really love their job so it made us even more excited to go in. The displays are beautiful, with music playing to really add to the vibe of it all. There is also a fun hologram show every 30 minutes or so! There is an entire interactive area where you can dance, sing, and play instruments. I definitely recommend bringing your friends here! We stayed for about an hour anr a half and it was so worth it! Also the ticket lasts a year, so if you live around this area you can go multiple times!
All the people are very nice,so many people. The show every 30 mins is cool, they have a lot of cool pieces of music history with things from the 40s to modern stuff
Having worked in Liverpool for 5 years, I finally made an effort to visit this museum on my birthday. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was great to see the costumes, the memorabilia and some of the instruments used, however, with the big center stage, it didn't really give much of a clue as to where to start and finish. I felt it needed more of a timeline genre, working its way up to the latest bands - that often I found myself trying to figure what period it was from. I felt the exhibition could have offered that bit more. The 3D hologram stage did seem to take up much space with only the odd song popping up (we had Boy George). The audience space (even though there wasn't much of an audience to speak of) would have faired better by either having flat table displays or screen interactive displays, perhaps having timeline connections between the artists and bands (example like Genesis with Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins). Displays that would come on and off in between stage performances. Altogether, I enjoy my visit, but I wish there could have been that bit more to offer. Certainly recommend a visit, if you are into the British music scene from all eras.
We really enjoyed this place. A fascinating walk through music history, the interactive stuff is great and there are real instruments and a vocal booth that are great fun. On a cold and wet December day, it was perfect. Highly recommend.
I loved visiting this place and will be back to spend more time here as you can come back again free of charge having paid today’s entry fee. What really impressed me was that the staff were so genuinely warm, friendly and welcoming . They were so enthusiastic and had lots of interesting things to say about the exhibits and previous experiences. Paul in particular was fascinating as he had met many of the stars having worked as a DJ on the famous QE2 ship. For older folk like me many wonderful memories will be triggered as as you look at the themed displays, What’s particularly great is that you get to play with various guitars , drums and record your self singing in a sound booth. It’s great fun As you enter there is a very realistic image of boy George singing……wow ! I love the building. You can imagine people waiting to board the luxury liners there. There are various thematic displays that change throughout the year and so it’s well worth coming back. I highly recommend visiting here.
