Fantastic. At the age of 54 I finally visited ’The Needles’ and had no idea there is a historical Victorian gun battery, 60m tunnel to a search light overlooking the needles rocks, a museum, cafe. Now run by the National Trust and well worth £10.50 entrance fee. Bus stop near by and walkable from Freshwater Bay (3 miles).
Always nice to visit the Needles, and after a long spell of nearly 20 year's it still welcomes you with even more offers of shops, dining, ice-creams and attractions, along with the chair lift or steps down to the beach to see the colourful sandy cliffs, there's the must do boat trips to see the Needles up close. With the gentle sway of the tour boat, or riding on top of waves, cutting across the surf on the power boat, you hear about the history of the Needles and the views across the water, always a must do. We have visited the Needles twice now in the last two months and still think it's one of the best attractions of the island.
We visited The Needles as a group of 8 and had a fantastic experience. The chairlift took us down to the beach quickly and smoothly, and the views of the cliffs were absolutely stunning. We also took the boat trip around the Needles( unfortunately it's gone due to erosion) and lighthouse, which was definitely the highlight of the visit. Well organised, beautiful scenery, and well worth a trip if you're visiting the Isle of Wight.
This is one of the best attractions to visit on the Isle of Wight. The iconic chairlift is the main feature in the area, going down to the beach which you can walk around and take a short boat trip to the rock formations & Lighthouse at the viewpoint. Amazing views all around, especially on the chairlift.
A lovely, clean, and well-maintained place with beautiful scenic views. It’s a great spot for families, with food options available and games to keep kids entertained. The area can be quite windy at times, but that adds to the charm of the location. The trolley ride was a highlight—smooth, enjoyable, and offering great views. Overall, a pleasant experience and a nice place to spend a relaxing day.
