Visit websiteWe came up recently for the Dub and Grub and visited Upfront for the first time, it definitely won’t be our last. From the moment we arrived, we fell completely in love with the natural charm of the place. The grounds, surrounded by greenery and nature, instantly make you feel immersed in the loveliness of the countryside making it super easy to switch off. The music was such a special treat from start to finish. The warm-up crew set the tone perfectly and created such a beautiful energy leading into the main event, Channel One absolutely delivered a mega set that had everyone fully locked in and smiling all night. The gig brought together such a wonderful crowd too, the kind of humans who have you smiling from ear to ear just being around them. The hosts were fantastic, the food coming out of the kitchen was incredible, and it was lovely getting to meet and compliment the chef afterwards. The front-of-house staff were equally amazing so warm, friendly, and attentive, with nothing ever seeming like too much trouble. From corner to corner, the whole venue was filled with people who genuinely seemed happy to be there, creating a magical atmosphere that made the night feel really special. Upfront is a truly special place, and we can’t wait to come back. Big love 🧡✨🍃🌞 Jenna & Joey
Took our little girls to the puppet show. They had a great time. We all did really. After the performance we had a look around the museum and had a lovely chat with the puppeteer (I’ve forgotten the gentleman’s name but he was very informative!). After that our girls picked out a couple of puppets from the shop and we went into the cafe to pay for them and ended up coming out with 3 different slices of cakes too! Lovely few hours spent at the Upfront Theatre and I would highly reccomend it if your on holiday in the area and looking for something to do if the weather isn’t great.
A superb, magical, puppet theatre surrounded by wonderful countryside. A gem of English eccentricity. And the beautiful puppetry museum worth a visit in itself. There is the Upfront vegetarian kitchen and gallery of paintings and crafts.
Been a few times now and finally ate here as well — the food was great. Simple menu, but everything is done really well and clearly thought through. We watched Puss in Boots with the children and family and it was an extremely enjoyable experience. The show was brilliant and the children absolutely loved it. A really welcoming venue with a great atmosphere — we’ll definitely be back.
Fabulous puppet theatre with a magical production. Cafe is nice but no kids menu and difficult to find something for a picky 9 year old & portuon & price a bit big/steep for what they ate. Would prob just get drink & pud/cake ( the sticky toffee was amazing) and have meal before or after elsewhere. Will definitely return for another performance of the puppets all ages would enjoy.
