Adult swimming lessons are a joke, there are only 2 instructor and about 35 learners plus most of the time instructors just have a chat with their favorite ones and others are just left behind to do their own thing, one of the instructor literally spent the whole hour with one person. They have too many learners for one pool which makes the pool feel cramped

It's astonishing that there are a few members of staff who involve themselves in conversations about their private lives instead of doing what they're paid to do and pay attention to what's going on in the pool.

Me and my son love this swimming baths, the gym is good too, we go in the gym after swimming the staff are really nice, I’d definitely recommend this place and the brine pool is ideal.

Despite being an older centre the Gala baths and leisure centre are certainly worth a visit. You just need to look past the peeling paintwork in the brine pool and the older changing rooms (which is why I docked one star). Instead use the family changing area which has better changing rooms and hairdryers. As someone who needed to get back into exercise, I signed up to the Move It membership which is a very reasonable price for access to the gym and pools. All the staff are friendly and professional with a good knowledge of the classes and membership options. I'm loving the aquatherapy classes with knowledgeable instructors and I'm happily attending the gym regularly without the fear of judgement from gym 'bros and bunnies'. Perry from the gym deserves a separate shout out. The "my fitness journey" option he runs has resulted in a personalised plan which he reviews every couple of months. Which, when you're a lone female in your 50's and you've not set foot in a gym in 30 years is a brilliant support. I'm feeling fitter and stronger from my sessions and just wish the council would upgrade this venue to match the others in the borough!!

Sometimes crowded but definitely good place to swim. It’s interesting that people don’t pay attention of the sign “take a shower before you enter the pool”😭 There is a reason for that. Anyway I love the whole place. It has everything for people to be active! Thank you! ❤️
