An amazing themed weekend at West Horsley Place. Henry VIII was visiting and the entertainment was impressive. Jousting, theatre, tudor dance lessons, Archery, Jester school the list goes on. Everything was easily accessible and very well organised. The Jester and the Tudor dance teacher were exceptional in their roles but the man of the day was the young man running the mini joust for kids, his improvisation was amazing. Impressed that the kids zone was at no extra cost, it often has extra charges. The entrance fee was very reasonable and there were food and drink options a plenty. All in all a throughly wonderful day. Well done
Booked the film tour on a beautiful sunny day. Jumped off at the station and took a lovely scenic 30mins walk through the local forest (highly recommended!!). The staff are all very warm and welcoming with impressive knowledge of local and film history. Lots to see on the tour (must do!!) and around the grounds (free to wander). The button house garden (included with the tour) is a must visit and ideal for a picnic afterwards. We arrived at 11am. And left at 3pm. A wonderful day!
Outstandingly beautiful opera close to London. The kindest and most caring staff you could ever wish for. Unique small opera house. Production itself one of the greatest experiences I have ever had of a work of historic greatness. Congratulations to a great team.
We went on the Film and TV tour, and it was absolutely brilliant. The tour guide was amazing, lots of information about the filming there and good interaction with questions for the Ghosts fans and lots of laughs. I would really recommend a visit, every staff member we interacted with was super friendly
Great day out despite the wet weather. Amazing to see where they filmed the BBC tv series Ghosts, and full of fun historic facts about the house. Even better was the Saxon Day they had on, with realistic Saxon food, clothes and, a live re-enactment of Saxon battles/fights. Would definitely recommend for a nice day out.
