Explore a rare Edwardian family home filled with historical artifacts, vintage toys, and a fascinating photographic archive documenting life in Woodhall Spa.

Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum offers families a unique glimpse into early 20th-century domestic life through an authentically preserved Edwardian home. The museum showcases the residence of the Wield family, who lived in this distinctive Boulton and Paul bungalow—constructed from corrugated iron on a wooden frame—from 1887 until the 1960s. This rare architectural survivor provides visitors with an intimate understanding of how families lived during the Edwardian era. One of the museum's most captivating features is John Wield's extensive photographic collection, which serves as a valuable historical record of life and the development of Woodhall Spa during this period. The museum also features a carefully curated selection of vintage toys and games that visitors can actually play with, making it particularly engaging for children who can experience hands-on interaction with items from the past. The venue is ideal for families with young children, as it welcomes pushchairs and is dog-friendly, making it accessible for all ages from birth onwards. Its indoor setting ensures year-round visits are comfortable, and the volunteer-run museum provides a warm, community-focused atmosphere. Visitors can plan their experience through the museum's online booking system, allowing for flexible scheduling.

What an interesting place, finding out how Woodhall Spa started and the people who lived there and their visions. Run by volunteers and Patzy had so much information to share, well worth a trip there.
