We love this place, the animals are so well looked after and seem so happy in their environment. The zoo keepers and staff are really knowledgeable and always on hand to answer any questions. A family favourite are the Red Panada and it was lovely to see the babies Definitely will be using our free return within the week
To be honest, when I first found this on Google maps, I thought it's probably gonna be a bit crap + £19.50 to get in. I was SO wrong !!!! It was worth every penny. What a great little gem of a place, there was so much to see and you're in amongst most of it. The animals were everywhere, the layout is perfect, you follow one path all the way round, so you haven't got to second guess wether you missed anything. The staff were amazing, they knew everything about all the animals. There are talks and you can take in £1 coins for feed along the way. Seriously, if you're on the Island...go!!! + loads of free parking 👍🏻
A fun and engaging wildlife park with a great variety of animals. Amazon World Zoo Park offers an interactive experience in a relaxed setting, perfect for a family day out and getting close to nature. Wish it was better maintained as sadly some of the meerkats seemed not taken proper care.
A really enjoyable family day out with great animal encounters, especially if you make the most of the 7 day free return. We had a great time at Amazon World Zoo Park as a family. It is not a huge zoo but there is loads to enjoy, especially the walk through areas which make it feel really interactive. The birds and reptiles were a highlight and it was amazing seeing the sloths, monkeys, raccoons and armadillos up close, which are a personal favourite of mine. The lemur walk through was brilliant and we actually did it twice, with a few different time slots available throughout the day which worked well. There is plenty of parking and a really nice spot to pause for lunch near the lemurs which we enjoyed. The soft play is also a big bonus for kids and something we had not even spotted online beforehand. One thing to note is there was no map given on entry, just a faded one on the wall as you come in, but once you get going it is easy enough to find your way around and you can loop round areas again if you want to revisit things. The free return within 7 days is a real winner and adds so much value. We paid £63 as a family which felt very reasonable compared to other places on the island, especially knowing we can pop back even just for an hour for the soft play. It is probably not a full day out in one visit, we spent around 3 hours exploring the animals and then another hour or two in the park and soft play, but that flexibility to return makes it well worth it. Our 7 and 4 year old boys loved it, especially the Easter activity of finding golden eggs around the enclosures. Overall a really fun and relaxed place for families.
The photos on the website really don’t do this place justice. Out of everywhere we visited, Blackgang Chine, Sandown, The Needles, the Donkey Sanctuary, and Tappen Farm, this was by far my children’s favourite. They’re aged 7 and 3, and after our first visit, they were both asking to come back. Thankfully, the 7-day ticket with free return made that easy! A big highlight is the large indoor soft play area, it’s one of the best we’ve come across. On our first visit around midday, it was quite busy, so my 3-year-old mainly stayed in the under-5s section. However, when we returned earlier in the day (within the first 90 minutes of opening), it was much quieter, they practically had the whole place to themselves. This meant both children could play together safely in the larger soft play area, which made a huge difference. Adults are also allowed to supervise children inside the soft play when needed, which is really helpful. The indoor café offers a good range of food and drinks at reasonable prices, and there’s plenty of seating for parents to relax while the kids play. Another great tip: visit early, as many of the animals are most active during the first couple of hours, especially during feeding time. This even includes the nocturnal animals, which was a lovely bonus to see. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for families, it’s a fantastic day out and definitely worth visiting more than once!
