Visited here yesterday with my other half and we honestly had such a great day. Came over from Portsmouth as I hadn't visited the IOW in a long time and it was a first for my partner and found this gem of a place through researching things to do on the island. The centre wasn't too busy, so we were able to move through the sections with ease. The staff there were all very welcoming and friendly. The handling experience was amazing, the butterfly house was beautiful and full of all different species. We even got to feed some Koi Carp! Definitely will visit again in the future.

Went here on a whim, but so pleased we did, the place us amazing, thought we would just see some butterflies, but there is so much more. We were guided by Ryan, who was really knowledgeable, answered everyone's questions, and his handling skills were great with all the beasts he showed us, we could handle the snakes , gecko, cockroach, (if you were brave enough) He then took us to feed the Koi in one of the many ponds, its so unique, we feed them with baby bottles on end of broom sticks. Again Ryan explained everything, everyone there thought it was a great experience. Thank you so much, if we return to the island will definitely come back.

Relaxing place to visit very warm inside with beautiful butterflies and Koi carp of all sizes and colours in a lovely stream and pools. Mini beast area with lizards , snakes etc with very attentive staff. Very good for mental health. It has an Italian garden area and a Chinese themed garden area with very large beautiful Koi carp in a pool viewable from above on the Chinese bridge. Disability accessible with paths through the centre. Cafe a bit disappointing. The staff didnt tell us what was available on the menu which isnt on the wall display. Its in a book on the counter which we found but were not told what was being served at that time. We opted for cakes and coffee. The coffee was from a self serve machine but the worst of all was the cake was so dry. Nice feeling in the cafe though.

If you love butterflies then you will love this place as there is a large and well landscaped area for them with many types and places to sit and even let them land on you. I can see the owners have extended this place with an Italian and Japanese gardens along with small lizards. All laid out well. The main reason I reduced the stars is that it was over £15 per adult which I felt was too much considering the experience. The attached butterfly themed shop was well priced and had a good selection. The attached cafe was priced well and the two sausage, chips and beans for around £10 was well priced too. The quality was about right for the price. Overall, I would go there for an hour or two and you would see everything in that time.

Lovely visit and really informative. Considering we came slightly out of season (end of march) the butterflies we did see were beautiful. Ryan was so helpful, knowledgable and friendly and made us feel really welcome! The additional reptiles they had were a great extra and brilliant that we got to get them out too. Not to mention the lovely and well thought out garden areas they had. We look forward to coming back when its filled with even more life than it already has - great value for money!
