Came to see the temporary exhibition for Gees Bends Quilt and were not disappointed! Lovely setting near Bath with a beautiful terrace overlooking the valley below. Beautifully landscaped and maintained gardens in a modern American prairie style. The main art and craft collection was an interesting insight into both indigenous and modern American history and the quilt collection wonderful. Highly recommend and a great Reuben toasted sandwich from the deli (even if the service was a little uncoordinated!). Great to eat in or outdoors and plenty of walking opportunity around the wider parklands and woodland.

Very idyllic setting and wonderful walks. Great for a family picnic. Good play area for kids with a good size indoor/outdoor snack area. The museum (converted mansion) was clean and very interesting. It mainly focused on 18th century onward, which although was excellent - but I would have liked to have seen much more 'Indigenous' native Americans information including frontiersman. But on the whole, a good interesting day with 'chilled' walks!

Interesting place to visit. A small snippet of American history. When you consider that the continent already had people living there ,the British arrived and many other European races and systematically wiped them out or put them in reservations. It has given me the incentive to start watching yellow stone series. Starting with 1883. It is amazing how much has happened in little over 100 years. Pleasant gardens to wander around. Food in the cafe was good and pleasant to sit outside on the terrace to eat it.

First visit here. The room volunteers were extremely knowledgeable , friendly and approachable. The regular quilt display was stunning. We were fortunate to visit when the special exhibition of Kith and Kin was on. As well as additional quilts there was a wonderful video installation. We walked around the beautiful gardens and had lunch outside on the terrace. A fabulous day was enjoyed.

Took my grandson during the holidays! Nice gardens, although he wasn’t interested. The museum is well laid out over 3 floors with all sorts of vintage Americana. A whole room has been moved from the States to give it an authentic feel. In clouding a visit to the restaurant we spent about 3 hours here, so it seemed quite good value for money.
