Blacon Adventure Playground, affectionately known locally as The Venny, is a beloved free outdoor venue that has been operating for over 50 years. Owned and managed by Avenue Services, a social enterprise based in Blacon, the playground attracts hundreds of young visitors annually with its diverse range of activities and attractions. The adventure playground features exciting play structures including zip lines, swings, slides, and climbing areas set within a natural woodland environment. Children can fly, jump, slide, and explore various play equipment designed to encourage active outdoor recreation. The integrated city farm allows visitors to interact with farmyard animals including rabbits and tortoises, providing hands-on educational experiences about animals and nature. Suitable for children aged 0-16, Blacon Adventure Playground combines physical activity with nature connection and animal interaction. The venue operates weekdays, weekends, and school holidays from 10am-6pm, with farm activities available 12pm-5pm. Facilities include toilets, hand wash, first aid, and baby change amenities. Visitors should bring appropriate footwear as the outdoor site can be muddy and wear suitable clothing for outdoor play. While food facilities are not available on site, families are welcome to bring picnics to enhance their visit.

A great find! We loved this adventure play area and animal sanctuary. It was a perfect way to break up our journey. There were picnic tables, toilets, drinking water, wooden play platforms, many rope swings. There is a fun, grassroots, diy ethic, a refreshing change from a standard play park. Staff were helpful and friendly. Animals all looked happy. Would recommend.

Came to visit the daughter and took grandkids and had picnic. Saw the animals in the farm. Fantastic community resource. Stunning day 🥰

Our grandsons love visiting here. Plenty of space to run around & wear themselves out. Its basic, but as long as the kids love it & theres plenty of seating/tables for the adults. Has a real community feel to it with the animals & growing their own food bits.

Great for children of all ages Good climbing frame with bridges and slides, zip line and other swings, wooded area with dens and trails, a bridge and wooden sculptures and a mud kitchen and sheltered seating area, also a mini farm with goats, rabbits and guinea pigs, chickens and ducks

Amazing place for the kids to let off some steam and see some animals all in one place. My 2 girls love it and there is a bike / scooter track outside so no worries of them getting board... only problem you will have is trying to get them to leave. 👌🏼
