If your disabled please be aware of the steps to get inside the castle. The craft fair is a great event to visit. 1 disabled toilet found inside on lower ground. Helpful staff. Will be back another time for another visit.

They hold craft fairs here full of really high quality handmade goods, and also sell amazing food & drink including very good homemade gluten free options. Tours of the castle are interesting as it’s had such a varied history over centuries. It’s currently owned by a family who bought it several decades ago and have worked to maintain and restore it. They do put an outdoor lift in for the craft fairs so it can be accessed step free and there are wheelchair accessible toilets. I am unsure about disabled access for tours - the website says to let them know in advance. I am fairly certain some parts can only be accessed by steps. Part of the castle has been turned into a holiday flat called “Quartermasters” (because that’s who was there in WW2!) where my partner and I stayed and had a lovely time. I’ve not been able to say I stayed in a castle before. Again, you will need to ask about wheelchair access because they can change a few things but it won’t be perfect because it’s an 12th-18th century castle!

Just been to Brancepeth Castle today for a guided tour l, and it was brilliant. The guide, who is also the owner was fabulous. He's obviously passionate about the Castle, its history and its heritage. I'd definitely recommend a visit, its so interesting. We even got a cuppa made for us in the bookstore after the tour. Loved it.
