We are cadw members and thought we'd explore some of the accessible castles whilst on our holiday in the south of Wales. This place is quite steep to get up into for those with any mobility issues, there is benchs to have a rest as you make your way up but once you've entered the castle it does get steeper as you go further in! There are benches/picnic benches and deck chairs set out to rest in. The ground floor is all accessible and is all dog friendly as well! There is blue badge parking in the car park next to the castle but you need to get in early, it fills up fast! It's free parking for blue badge owners in the marked bays. Toilets are in the car park and were clean and tidy when we used them. If your self propelling in a wheelchair then a little help may be needed in some sections at the steeper levels just for a turbo boost.

Lovely visit in May though weather was rather hot. Well explained with good panels or an audio tour. Very interesting castle with lots of features and beautiful views over the river and town.

This was our first visit to Chepstow castle and it was very good!!!! When we entered we were greeted by a friendly memeber of staff who scanned our tickets. We spent about 1 hour and 30 minutes in the castle looking around and it was very entertaining!!! The castle inside is very old and the stairs in some of the rooms are VERY steep. There was merchendice here that we did not buy it because it was mainly aimed at children who would visit the castle. We were given a tour booklet which was useful and said about the painter turner and "bigod". It was not that busy when we went in here which I was not expecting because it was half term and the castle is owned by a chain that owns 100s of other castles in wales called "Cadw" and they even had their own deck chairs that we sat on!!! Overall this is a very good castle just on the edge of wales and i would probably only visit this once because we pretty much saw everything!!!!

A great castle ruin to visit, it had a grand size to it and seem to just get bigger as you walk through. These the odd room that still intact but you can walk along the wall on the inner side. This castle being next to a river gives it some great views and an add bonus of th bcar park being just outside the gate. 100% need to come back on a better day 😊
