Unforgettable beauty of a historic landmark which is very close to junction 30 of the M1. Really enjoyed the walk round and a visit to the museum. Parking is only £5 and the cafe looked well provisioned. The local wildlife are in abundance and don't seem bothered by your presence.

Nice place to learn about prehistotic britain booked a cave tour so you can go inside the caves its a different experience. My tour guide was great but cant remember his name he explained the history about the place and witch markes inside the cave its really nice tour around one hour. Museum is inteecative and small but can learn lots of things spend another 2 hours in the museum and walking in and around. Its a nice place to hangaround in a sunny day and if you book a tour you can visit the place for a whole year will visit with the family nrxt time

Great day out (or less if you need it!). Ice Age history comes alive. Easy walking trails, plenty of information boards around the lake or wander further afield. Parking is £5 all day. Lots to see for children as well. You can book cave tours separately. Walk 15 minutes the opposite direction and you're at Welbeck Abbey.

The only reason I would recommend buying a ticket in advance is for the cave tours and horse rides. The walk alone was good enough to keep me and my family entertained for a fair few hours. Beautiful setting and helpful staff in the visitors centre.

Lovely visit. Plenty of parking. Roam around for free. You need to pay only if you want to go to the museum or on a guided tour. The tour is last for around 1 hour and half, and it was a great time. Adult and children (school age) can enjoy it. If you pay for the guided tour ticket, that includes museum and re entry for a year round.
