Visited for the gym which was well equipped for a public facility. It also has a pool and fitness suites. Take a £1 coin for the lockers. The gym was very busy around 4pm due to after school students. Day pass £10.50, which was competitive with other local facilities.

I am a current member of the gym. the gym itself is always relatively clean and has a reasonable amount of equipment, however there are alot of machines i never see being used that could be gotten rid of and replace with things like an assisted pull up/ dips station. Please turn the music off in the gym, its always so loud and distracting, most people are using headphones anyway. for £48 alot more could be done with this gym.

It does the job. The swimming hall is in need of a proper do-up. There is a planned renovation so I might review this once visiting after the renovation jobs. Things that should be addressed: Lack of shoe boundary before changing rooms creates a messy floor in the changing rooms, unclean pool at times, no proper lane dividers make it feel like the north sea, no shelf's for shampoo/conditioner bottles in the showers.

Nice pool but as a first-time user I have nothing pre-revamp to compare it to . Couple of things I did notice though - first theres a scum mark around the pool behind the grab rails similar to what you’d get around your bath should you not clean it regularly. Surely this could be addressed somehow just to improve the hygiene and overall appearance . Secondly , I did notice several foreign objects floating around in the pool , and know it’s probably clumps of hair, sticking plasters etc but shouldn’t the filtration system deal with this kind of thing ? Finally, please , a couple more hooks in the cubicles would be very handy especially during the colder months when users probably need to hang up a coat as well as everything else they don’t want to risk falling on the wet floor . Sauna, steam room, showers and toilets all working correctly and the staff I spoke to were friendly and efficient.

The newly revamped gym offers a good range of equipment, looks good and has more than most people would need. The sauna and steam room are great. The pool is a good size and well maintained. What lets everything down is how dirty and wet, (a swimming costume dryer would be a great addition), the changing room floor is. It doesn’t look like it has had a proper clean for a very long time. It really does bring down the whole look and feel of the place and isn’t hygienic at all. Unfortunately half the toilets do not flush properly either. If these two things could be addressed, then the centre is definitely worth 4/5 stars for the value and facilities it provides.
