Stamford Bridge, United Kingdom•4.6(452)•Botanical Garden, Museum

Explore England's enchanting Lost Fairy Gardens and Museum, a restored woodland sanctuary featuring a unique collection of fairy artefacts, winding garden paths, and seasonal magical experiences.

Dreamery Gardens is a one-of-a-kind destination combining a restorative botanical experience with England's only Fairy Museum. Located just outside York, this carefully restored woodland was neglected and believed lost for over a hundred years before its magical revival. Visitors wander winding paths beneath ancient trees while discovering the ever-growing collection of Professor Howland's recovered and restored arcane artefacts in the museum. The venue caters to families, mythology enthusiasts, couples, grandparents, and gardeners seeking an enchanting escape. Throughout the year, seasonal events bring the gardens to life—from Ice Fairy February and Easter hunts to Mermay Magic and Twilight Garden experiences. Children and adults alike are captivated by the fairy-themed storytelling and immersive woodland atmosphere. The Dreamery Kitchen serves woodland afternoon tea with champagne, smoked salmon, scones, and petit fours, with complimentary garden access included. The venue welcomes dogs and pushchairs, making it accessible for all family members. Booking is required, and on-site glamping accommodation at Jollydays offers extended stays for those wishing to fully immerse themselves in the magic.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea here. My daughter has food intolerances and this was catered for brilliantly She thoroughly enjoyed it! We then took a walk around the forest - what creative minds - it was magical! We then ventured into the museum- my favourite bit was walking through the wardrobe into the mini magical world! We then had drinks on the veranda. We had a lovely time here and would strongly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a lovely day out, the forest path is beautiful and well maintained. I would have loved this as a child, but even as an adult felt magical seeing the sunlight stream through the trees onto the water. Also loved the pre raphaelite art on the walls.

Such a beautiful hidden treasure! I'd never heard of this place until recently so decided to give it a go and we're very pleased we did. We enjoyed a peaceful woodland walk with little hidden surprises along the way, it took us just over an hour to get round. We then stopped in the fairy museum (don't forget to open the wardrobe) and then onto the cafe where the food was lovely! The staff are really friendly and helpful too. We can't wait to go back in the summer and have recommended to friends and family too!
