This was my first escape room. I had a lot of fun though I didn't always feel very intelligent! Luckily the staff, Harshita and Salem, were there to nudge us when we got stuck. There were some interesting surprises along the way. Our team of 4 seemed like a good number. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely brilliant pirate-themed escape room from start to finish! The puzzles were clever, immersive, and really made us feel like we were part of the adventure. Josh was an outstanding host—friendly, enthusiastic, and knew exactly when to give us a nudge without spoiling the experience. His energy really added to the atmosphere. We did the Alice in puzzleland this weekend and it was amazing. It was so linear (every puzzle went on to the next) which makes them more manageable for beginners especially with clues and hints lol. The staff were really helpful (ailsa and amber) they answered every question we had at the start before getting in and were so kind and attentive.

We had an amazing experience at Escape Hunt Exeter doing Blackbeard’s Treasure for my wife’s birthday. It was my first ever escape room, so I honestly didn’t know what to expect — my expectations were fairly low — but it completely exceeded them. The whole experience felt like a brilliant, animated adventure. It took us 46 minutes to escape and every minute was fun, engaging, and packed with different types of puzzles. The room wasn’t just a single space either — multiple rooms unlocked as we discovered clues, which made it feel immersive and exciting. There was a fantastic mix of challenges: matching items, playing music, pulling ropes, finding hidden keys, unlocking padlocks — loads of variety that kept us thinking and working together. Our hosts, Cecilia and Amber, were brilliant — friendly, welcoming, and helped make the experience even better. It’s also located inside Boom Battle Bar - Exeter, which has loads of other activities like axe throwing, shuffleboard, mini golf, karaoke rooms and a bar. We were there before lunchtime so didn’t try the other activities, but it makes for a fantastic day out option. We’d absolutely come back to try one of the other rooms (there are several to choose from) and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and different to do in Exeter.
