We had our wedding reception here! What a beautiful building ran by some amazing people. The staff could not accommodate enough even weeks and months before the day. Then they could not of been more helpful on the day. The main hall is stunning and such an amazing place to get married. The grounds are stunning and great for amazing photos. We will be making this a regular place to visit!

This is a fantastic hall. Amazing staff great open fires. Lovely cake and a lovely garden.

Very interesting historic house. In its day it must have been a important family who had money and status due to its size and decoration. Also, it most probably overlooked beautiful hills and countryside but sadly today its just off a busy main road. It was good to see young school groups visiting and people dressed up in period costumes explaining features of daily life and living in those days. History and heritage is so important. Nice little café and very reasonable on prices. Certainly worth a visit.

Visited yesterday with my fiancé, we didn't know this little gem existed until very recently and it's a shame that more people don't know about it but now that we know we will be sure to visit again and tell others about it. A beautiful building that is really worth the visit, the grounds are just beautiful. It must take a lot of work to upkeep such an old building to these great standards. You can tell the people who work here / volunteer are very passionate about it which is wonderful. Highly recommend a visit! Some lovely things available to purchase as souvenirs plus a little cafe.

Afternoon opening allowed us to see this extraordinary house and read its history. The weather was kind so we could walk the grounds and get a bit of history relating to the different plants grown for a variety of purposes inc medical, magical, domestic, and textile. The cafe provided cakes and coffee with friendly service and even a witchfinder general regaling from the book by King James concerning demonology. A fun and informative visit.
