This place is useless. In Inverness I was a member of a council gym which cost £35 per month (with no joining fee), which included the price for the health suite. This health suite had a (working) sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. At no point during my two years were either the steam room or sauna closed, and the jacuzzi was only very briefly closed. It also had excellent gym facilities with two floors of gym equipment and around 12 or so squat racks. This place has a downstairs gym with two squat racks and a capacity of four people, but if both people are on the squat racks at the same time, you are almost falling over each other. There are some machines upstairs, but the dumbbells upstairs only go up to 20kg for some reason and there is literally one bench- which is almost always in use. I've been a member for around two months, and for about 1.5 months the steam room has been closed. It's an absolute joke. I don't know why they don't just fix it- or at least give people a discount on their sauna/steam room add on. And today I went to go to the sauna. I usually go later on at night but I thought it would be nice to go early for once. But no- it's closed for staff training for a couple hours lol. You couldn't make it up. They also close at 3pm on weekends for some reason, and kick people out of the health suite area over 30 mins before it closes (usually around 8:25pm when it closes at 9pm). In the Inverness one you could often stay until right before it closed at 10pm. All for the bargain price of £60 per month plus a joining fee. Needless to say I'm leaving this gym and going elsewhere. Even Bannatyne's is cheaper. Fwiw this is the first review I have left in years, but it annoyed me too much. It is in a nice building to be fair and the swimming pool is cool. But they should reduce the price, fix the steam room promptly and at least add a bench and some heavier weights to the gym upstairs.

Fantastic venue, lovely pool, clean facilities and good yoga classes. It feels like a proper community facility with some really good staff who take the trouble to get to know you. Sam's Cafe is a great addition!

I really liked this Victorian pool! Very relaxed environment to get your laps in, spacious with lots of light, a nice sauna, and a great cafe with plates of strawberries upstairs 🍓✨

Lucky find as was hoping to swim while visiting the city. Fortunately in the morning the pool was not too busy. Added the sauna option. Easy to change in cabins adjacent to the pool. The Victorian pool hall was a treat to swim in given the many windows allowing light to pour in.

Friendly staff & very clean swimming pool. I recommend checking a timetable before going as they offer both casual and line swimming. There are lockers for everyone (£1 needed), private showers, and very good hairdryers. Edinburgh Leisure | Swimming Pool
