This impressive castle was built in the 15th century and is one of the first to be constructed from brick in England by builders from Flanders. The castle has a long history of ownership changes, renovations and restorations. Be sure to join a guided tour to learn about the journey through time this castle continues to make. Exploring the castle allows you to feel that change, it's like walking through previous lives that you can't quite remember. The castle is truly impressive and beautiful, it's magnificent! The current owners Queen's University in Canada were gifted this splendid castle by Alfred and Isabel Bader and they are taking excellent care of it. I am sure it will easily see out the next 600 years as well! The tour guide was very insightful and provided great knowledge.

A nice hidden gem, you can get a tour or just visit the grounds. There is a car park in front of the Castle. Lovely gardens, good for a walk, a nice coffee shop with indoor and outdoor tables,good food and coffee. Woth visiting.

Went to the garden show. Wow brilliant. I've lived here 20 years and it's the 1st time we have been. It was lovely great building great gardens and a great show.

Lovely visit. Our tour guide Melinda was very good. What she did not know about the history of the castle is not worth knowing. Beautiful castle & grounds.
