Having previously done the castle escape we were looking forward to doing the witches room. Out of the 40 escape rooms we’ve done this was in the bottom 5. The room was old, not looked after at at one point we managed to wander into a storage area completely unsure if we were even supposed to be there. Another puzzle hadn’t been updated which made it pretty much illegible and unable to solve. When we expressed our disappointment with our host she just replied “yeah it’s nine years old - it’s being redone soon thank god”. If you know it’s that old and not worth playing, close it and improving it before charging full price.

Hannah is a great host, had a nice little chat afterwards and I loved the escape room (Escape the noose, something like that) and it was great fun. super interesting little surprises here and there in the room, escaped in 48 minutes. Good drinks too Chloe was our games master, and she did a great job as well!

We (me and my wife) went to Lancaster Escape last night. It was my first time attempting an escape room, my wife's been to one before elsewhere. So we're newbies really. We chose "escape the noose" where you're witches awaiting execution and have one hour to solve the clues left in a prison cell that housed the Pendle Witches. 🧙🧹 and escape the hangman's noose! When we arrived we were greeted by Hannah and we had a drink whilst we waited for our slot. Hannah gave us a brief safety talk and briefed us on the rules of the game. Apparently we chose the toughest escape for our first visit. I didn't see any difficulty ratings when I book but we weren't bothered as we just wanted to go and have fun. The game was great, we really got immersed in it. We did need to ask for a little clue a couple of times but we did pretty well for a first attempt, I think?! We'll definitely be back to try one of the other rooms too. It's good fun and I'd recommend Lancaster Escape. Hannah was lovely, the game and the rules were explained clearly, the equipment you're given (torches/walkie talkie) are clean and all work. 5 Star ⭐ review from us!! Thanks for a fun time!
