What a great museum and for free! The dinosaur section had some interesting displays and facts. The Egyptian section had a great display of mummies and pottery. I loved finding out about the history of the different cultures moving into Leicester over the years. As a big Star Wars fan the temporary Star Wars posters and toys section was fantastic. Had lots of lovely chats with Mohammed, a member of staff discussing Star Wars, the museum and all things Leicester. I wish I had seen the textiles displays last year. I will come back again.

The museum only had one large dinosaur and quite a few smaller parts of dinosaurs. The various exhibits were very sparce , no interactive areas for children. No cafe at the moment ,No parking nearby... I think there is some restauration going on to the museum at the moment. Hopefully this beautiful building will realise it's full potential , it will benefit from a cafe as many people travel a fair distance to it...

Not a big museum and its refurbishment is still in progress when I visited. Similar with other towns/ cities' museum, it showcased the achievements of Leicester and how it was developed to the current state. There is also a local artwork exhibition in the museum, which is worth to see for enjoyment.

Took the family on a 'research' trip pre-GCSE and we visited the wonderful Open People's Exhibition. Undeniably Leicestershire is very talented. This event should have more prominence, more time allicated for submissions. I haven't given it 5 stars because I believe that this museum should advertise itself further and wider. I only know about what they do because I am hooked to social media, not because I am from Leicester. Also, there was a great embroidery temporary exhibition that was very informative and had gorgeous exhibits, but this one wasn't even named in the media.

Absolutely fantastic 👏 We rondomy decided had a look others reviews we thought lets give a try didn't seem anything too much. BUT we where pretty impressed. A lot for kids also designed to make them pay attention on details. Well done 👏 Definitely recommend. 😇 P.s. my pre teen was apparently too big for doing Elmars trails. So I did instead. I loved it. 😍
